Frequently Asked Questions About Maid Employment Agencies in Singapore
Why choose Homekeeper as your maid employment agency in Singapore?
Homekeeper provides you with comprehensive and quality services to make the process of hiring a maid for your home as hassle-free as possible. Our friendly and professional staff will cover all aspects of paperwork and the application process, such as initial interview, training, travel arrangements, medical screening, etc. All of these are done to ensure that the procedure is smooth whilst complying with the legal requirements.
Furthermore, we endeavour to match the right helper to assist you with your domestic needs. Choosing a reliable maid agency is just as important especially since the process requires a very strong after sales support. As such, it goes without saying that your satisfaction is our top priority.
What is the Security Bond for Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW)?
The security bond of $5,000 applies to employers of foreign domestic workers in Singapore. The purpose of a security bond is to ensure that employers remain responsible for the maintenance and welfare of their helpers. This includes prompt salary payment as well as timely repatriation of these foreign domestic helpers. Should the employer violate the Work Permit conditions, the security bond stands to be forfeited. However, if the maid is found to have breached these conditions on her own behaviour, the employer will not be held liable.
If the foreign domestic helper in Singapore is not found within 1 month from the date the Work Permit was cancelled, $2,500 (half of the $5,000 security bond) will be forfeited to cover the repatriation and other related costs.

Who is eligible to hire a domestic helper in Singapore?
All Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents, and expatriates holding valid Employment Pass or S Pass, are eligible to apply. However, these are subject to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)’s approval of the reason for employing a domestic helper. Prospective expat employers have to show proof of family members living with them upon submitting their application.
